Kolb House and Facilities
6600 Donlon Way, Dublin, CA 94568, United States
The Kolb House and Facilities has been providing quality living for over 100 years. Kolb House was built in 1902 by the Kolb family who used it as their private residence until they donated it to the city of Dublin, California in 1917. It now serves as an Assisted Living Facility that provides services such as 24-hour on-site supervision, housekeeping/laundry service, a library with a computer station, and a fireplace lounge area.
History
In 1910, George Kolb Jr. purchased a Craftsman Bungalow-style house from Charles Bruce of Pleasanton to be built by his wife Wilhelmina’s sister Augusta who had one in Beverly Hills completed just before the family moved into it for Christmas Eve that year with their two children: Edwin age 11 and Harold 10 at this point. The furnishings were all Arts & Crafts Mission style furniture pieces chosen specifically because they wanted an unpainted natural wood look throughout including doorsills as well as side panels on beds + bookcases etc.
Wilhelmina and her family lived in a house that had state-of-the-art running water, electricity. In 1933 George Jr died leaving his wife Elsie with two children to raise on their own for quite some time until she was eventually able to secure work as an underpaid teacher at Dublin’s rural elementary school where they both attended classes together from then onwards
In 1938 Carol(Donna) was born as well as twin brothers named Robert who later became farmers themselves before passing away when still very young. Later Willemine married George Heritage who lived in a massive house on the other side of Dublin before she bought Kolb House from him as well as moved into it once he had passed away.
Home of George Kolb
George Kolb came to Dublin from Germany in 1880 and bought the General Store. In 1900 he purchased 300 acres of land for a farm that operated 100 years later under his family’s management-Dublin was their home and it endured many changes over time due to natural disasters like fires or crop failures which were often caused by manmade accidents such as plagues on animals.
Visiting Hours
The Kolb House is in Dublin’s historic farmhouse and will be open to the public for viewing Mondays through Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 12 p.m. There are self-guided brochures available by the front door that tell all about Ireland’s rich farming history!
