Hagemann Park

Livermore, CA 94551

Hagemann Park is a small but scenic park in Livermore, California. It’s a great place to go for a walk or just have lunch with friends and family. The park has plenty of space to play sports like soccer and football, as well as other activities such as biking. If you’re looking for some peace and quiet, Hagemann Park has all that and more. Some trivia about this park:

  • Named after a Livermore pioneer called John Hagemann, the park was first developed by developer Thomas Rutherford.
  • Initially, the park began with just a few trees and natural springs where people gathered to cool off on hot summer days. Needless to say, concrete pools were soon added which made swimming more accessible for visitors; these are still around today! (In fact, one of them features a water slide.)
  • Hagemann Park’s waterfall is notable for its resemblance to the quote “live fast, die young” by James Dean.

Hagemann Park has been here for over 100 years. It’s located just north of downtown Livermore and is a great place to spend time outside. You can walk around the park on paved paths or explore the trails that go through this beautiful green space. The house on the original parcel for this property is the oldest in Livermore, built in 1848 for those who herded cattle and rode the range. Prior to that, the land was originally a pasture for Mission San Jose, until it became public in 1835. On weekends, families can be seen picnicking and enjoying the tot lot play area. The people get to experience the following when they visit:

  • Hagemann Park is a beautiful and historic green space
  • You can walk around, take part in events, or explore trails
  • Be one of those people who have lived here over 100 years
  • Hagemann Park offers a little bit of everything: hiking trails, views, history

The ranch became part of City Land in 1952 when it was subdivided to create Hagemann Park. The park includes an outdoor amphitheater with space for picnic tables and concerts on summer Sundays, as well as tennis courts which are open all year round from sunrise to sunset.
