Las Positas Vineyards is a family owned, estate-grown winery that produces wines of outstanding consistency and character. It all started in January 2006, when Lisa and Lothar Maier bought a 20-acre vineyard on Kalthoff Commons in the Livermore Valley’s southwest corner. They agreed at that point that the current vineyard did not meet their expectations. They pulled the current vines and tilled the soil that year in order to crack the hardpan barrier underneath the surface of this field. They then planted small parcels of Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Petit Verdot, Tempranillo, Barbera, Petite Sirah, and Chardonnay in clones of Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Petit Verdot, Tempranillo, Barbera, Petite Sirah, and Chardonnay. Their labour of love got serious.

They are proud to deliver new opportunities for families to enjoy and share by collaborating with other local families to build and cultivate enjoyable events and camaraderie.
