Ravenswood Historic Site

2647 Arroyo Rd, Livermore, CA 94550

It was built in 1891 by Christopher Augustine Buckley, Sr., the “Blind Boss” of San Francisco politics, and is part of a 100-acre landholding that was once his family’s summer retreat. The property now includes a beautiful Carriage House and Cottages, as well as parks, apple orchards, vineyards, lawns, and scenic walks, in addition to the handsomely renovated Main House. This site transports tourists to an elegant age, where time stands still and lasting memories are made, much like the grand private homes of a far more opulent era.

This jewel of a place located in the Livermore Valley Wine Country is an easy alternative if you’re hunting for a scenic estate surrounded by vineyards for your upcoming special event.

Climate permitting, gatherings may be held indoors or outside. Ceremonies are usually conducted at the beautiful white gazebo or the shaded tree path, all of which are lovely places to say “I do.” The Victorian-era street lamps, Carriage House, and Cottages all contribute to the historic ambiance and provide the ideal backdrop for your event. Couples may also say their vows at the top of the main house steps, with a breathtaking view of the Livermore Valley Wine Country.

Cocktails and appetizers can be served around the front lawn fountain, under the mature pink pepper palms, or inside one of the big parlors. The large U-shaped porch that wraps around the majority of the Victorian main house is ideal for sipping wine and nibbling on hors d’oeuvres while admiring the vineyard views and socializing with friends and relatives. Yard games can be included as a friendly way to keep visitors entertained.

Dining is common on the spacious front lawn, which features a large fountain and breathtaking vineyard views. Charming period features, such as oak floors and wainscoting, fireplaces, pocket doors, and chandeliers, enrich receptions within the Main House. There’s also a secluded, spacious space downstairs for the bride and her wedding party.

You’ll find plenty of photogenic places to pause or pose no matter where you go on the property. But it’s the many ways you can personalize Ravenswood and its expansive, visitor-friendly grounds that we find most appealing.

Structures and Views

Apart from the Main House, this location has a variety of buildings and natural environments. A banquet hall, kitchen, mansion, winery, civic house, and patio are all included.

A forest surrounds the place. There’s even a vineyard, as well as a garden and panoramic landscaped grounds. When taking photos, this is the ideal backdrop.

Services

Aside from being an event’s place, catering, as well as the leasing of fully furnished kitchen equipment, tables and chairs, linens and silverware, are among the services they provide.

Use of venue in the time of Covid

Small, socially distant outdoor weddings for up to 24 guests are now possible in the current setting for couples who are ready to say “I Do” right now! Choose from a charming garden gazebo, a rustic enclosed tree patch, or the timeless shaded tree archway for your ceremony. Often included are the bride’s quarters, tables, wine barrels, easels, toilets, parking, building attendant, and maintenance.
